Danie le Roux
Museum

Bonnievale can boast with the "Littlest Museum" in South Africa. The Museum was the initiative of Oom Daantjie le Roux. The collection started many years ago on the farms Kapteinsdrift and Angora Stud where Oom Daantjie grew up and farmed.

Since his childhood he was an ardent collector of all Interesting things. Apart from this Family’s love for nature, they are dedicated preservers of their heritage and would like ensure that they leave something worthwhile for the generations to come. Danie started with the private museum on the farm which grew into something really special. Eventually he acquired one of the most beautiful buildings in the heart of Bonnievale and moved his Collection into town.
The Gallery consists mainly of paintings and caricatures by her Opa Franz Rosemann. There is also a exquisite Semi Precious stone collection of her uncle Horst Windisch. The Museum is also host to a large collection of books by Breyten Breytenbach, who grew up in Bonnievale and was donated by the Publisher Koos Human a while back. We have a large Doll collection, Fossil Collection, Afrikana book collection as well as items made in the Concentration camps in St Helena.
